Version 1.0 · Effective 21 September 2026
The short version. Color Killer has no accounts and no sign-up. Your scores, settings and progress are kept on your iPhone. The app never sends them to us — we do not run a server and we could not read them if we wanted to. Three Apple and Google services are involved when you use the features that need them: Game Center, the App Store, and the ads. Everything below is the detail behind that.
1. Who this is
Color Killer is an independent iPhone game published by its developer, who acts as data controller for the very limited processing described here. Contact: support@color-killer.com.
This policy covers the Color Killer iOS app and this website, color-killer.com.
2. What stays on your device
The game keeps its state in iOS UserDefaults — the standard local
preferences store, inside the app's own sandbox on your iPhone. That state is:
- your high score, per-level best scores and checkpoints;
- daily challenge results, your streak and which days you played;
- which orbs and colours you have met, and which achievements have been reported;
- settings — sound, haptics, colour symbols, reduced motion, chosen app icon;
- the number of runs you have played, and whether the ad-free purchase is active.
None of this is transmitted to us. It is included in your encrypted iPhone backup if you make one, and it is deleted when you delete the app.
We operate no server and no analytics. The app contains no analytics, attribution, or crash-reporting SDK of any kind. There is no telemetry endpoint, no event logging and no user profile — here or anywhere.
3. Third parties, and exactly when they are involved
Apple Game Center
Optional. If you are signed in to Game Center on your iPhone, the game submits your scores to two leaderboards (all-time and daily) and reports achievement progress, and it can show your Game Center alias and your friends' scores. That data is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy, not by us. We receive no personal data from Game Center — the game reads back only ranks and scores for display. Sign out of Game Center, or turn it off in iOS Settings, and none of this happens; the game plays normally without it.
The App Store and in-app purchase
The game offers one optional non-consumable purchase — Remove Ads — handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. Apple processes the payment and tells the app only whether you own the product. We never see your name, payment card, billing address or Apple Account. Restoring a purchase asks Apple the same question again.
Google AdMob (advertising)
Until the ad-free purchase is made, the free game shows ads served by Google AdMob, including an optional rewarded video you can choose to watch to continue a run from a checkpoint. To do this, the Google Mobile Ads SDK is present in the app and sends Google information about the ad request, which can include your device model, iOS version, coarse location inferred from IP address, IP address itself, and ad-related identifiers. Google's handling is governed by the Google Privacy & Terms and Google's AdMob policies.
Buying Remove Ads stops this. It is not a cosmetic setting: the ad SDK is no longer asked for ads, so no further ad requests are made.
| Recipient | What | When | Avoidable? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple (Game Center) | Score, achievement progress, your Game Center identity | Only while signed in to Game Center | Yes — sign out, or disable Game Center |
| Apple (App Store) | Purchase and restore requests | Only if you buy or restore Remove Ads | Yes — don't buy it |
| Google (AdMob) | Ad request data: device, OS, IP, ad identifiers | While ads are shown | Yes — buy Remove Ads |
| Us | Nothing | Never | — |
4. Tracking, advertising identifiers and consent
Color Killer does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, and therefore does not access the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across other companies' apps and websites. It declares no tracking domains. If you ever see an ATT prompt attributed to this app, something is wrong — please tell us.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's User Messaging Platform presents a consent form the first time ads are about to be shown. Your answer decides whether Google may serve personalised ads. You can change it at any time from Settings → Ad privacy choices inside the game, where that row appears for users in those regions.
Elsewhere, ads are served under Google's regional defaults. You can limit ad personalisation for every app at once in iOS under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and Apple Advertising, and through Google My Ad Center.
5. Notifications
The game can send local notifications — a reminder that a new daily challenge is available, for example. They are scheduled on your iPhone by the app itself. There is no push server, so no device token is registered with anyone and nothing about you leaves the phone. iOS asks your permission before the first one, and you can withdraw it in iOS Settings at any time.
6. Children
Color Killer is a general-audience game. It is not directed to children under 13 (or under the equivalent age in your country), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app has no chat, no user-generated content, no camera or microphone access and no links out to social networks. Because the free version shows third-party ads, families who prefer no third-party ad requests at all should use the Remove Ads purchase. Parents can also restrict in-app purchases entirely with iOS Screen Time.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to a service through this app, contact us and we will help you reach the relevant provider.
7. Your rights and how to exercise them
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent (GDPR in the EEA and UK; CCPA/CPRA in California; comparable laws elsewhere). In practice:
- Data we hold about you: none. We have no account system, no database and no copies of your game data, so there is nothing for us to export or erase. If you write to us, we will confirm this in writing.
- Delete everything on your device: delete the app. That removes all local game data with it.
- Game Center data: managed by Apple. Use Apple's Data and Privacy portal, or remove yourself from a leaderboard through Game Center.
- Ad data: managed by Google. Use your Google Account controls, and the in-game Ad privacy choices row where it is shown.
- We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we run no cross-context behavioural advertising of our own.
Legal bases under the GDPR, for the little processing that occurs: performance of a contract (delivering the game and any purchase you make), your consent (personalised advertising where the consent form is shown, and notifications), and legitimate interests (serving non-personalised ads to fund a free game).
8. Security and retention
Game data lives in the app's sandbox, protected by iOS file protection and your device passcode. We retain nothing, so there is nothing for us to keep or to lose. Apple and Google retain what they retain under their own policies, linked above. This website is served as static files by Cloudflare Pages; it sets no cookies, runs no analytics and embeds no third-party scripts. Cloudflare processes request logs as our hosting provider.
9. Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects this policy — a new service, a new permission — this page is updated before that version ships, and the version number and date at the top change with it. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes.
10. Contact
Questions, requests or corrections: support@color-killer.com. We answer in English, usually within a few days. EEA and UK residents also have the right to complain to their local data protection authority.
